Country Music Fans!?? What do you think of…?
Jessica’s new song “Come on Over”, and the thought of her singing country? I actually like the song, but she shouldn’t be singing it. To me, she just isn’t country. In my eyes, a country singer is not only someone who sings country, but IS country. S/he embraces the beautiful southern country lifestyle and understands what everything means and really sings from his/her heart. I don’t think Jessica’s doing that. Sure, she’s from Texas, but does that make her country? Because I really don’t think it does. When you think ‘Jessica Simpson’, do you really think of a sweet, southern, country girl? Because most people don’t. But you DO think that way about women like Sara Evans and Martina McBride, and even Gretchen Wilson. Jessica just seems like a poser and thinks she can do anything and thinks that everyone loves her, and I’m glad she got booed at that concert, and to be honest, I agree with the quote that said “she’s an embarrassment to country music.”
I want all your opinions! <3
OK, that came out kind of rude, I guess the bottom line, is I think she’s a beautiful, talented woman, but this isn’t her thing and this isn’t who she is. She sings pop (I think, and if she doesn’t, then whatever she sings, I don’t listen to her, so sorry I don’t know), and she should stick with that. She shouldn’t try to be someone that she’s not. Especially country.
Some people say that she can sing anything, and she’s so good at country, but the majority of those people, all they think of country is the accent. They don’t understand country music at all and they don’t know who a country singer really is.
Interesting… because I’ve always loved Shania too. But, there still seems to be something about her thats just country, and I just dont think Jessica has that.
Who else likes Jessica Simpson as a country singer?
I like Jessica Simpson singing both kinds of music but I think she does way better at singing country. I love her song come on over and I don’t even care for country but I like her singing it xD

Jessica Simpson Goes Country – Do You Know
I guess it’s true that you can take the girl out of Texas but you can’t take the Texas out of the girl…perhaps that’s why Jessica Simpson has decided now is the time to put out a country album and therein become a country artist. The album entitled “Do You Know” is slated for release in September but her single “Come on Over” is already getting some serious airplay and broke the record for the highest entry into the charts for a newcomer to the country genre. Jessica co-wrote all but 4 songs on the album, and one of those four was written by her all-time country inspiration Dolly Parton. And football fans may or may not enjoy the fact that one of the tracks was penned for Jessica’s current flame Tony Romo. Apparently his teammates have given her the nickname Yoko Romo in a comparison to Yoko Ono who is oftentimes blamed for ruining John Lennon’s career. Some people love the young artist, and obviously, other’s don’t. BUT The road to success can sometimes be rocky. Jessica was recently booed and received poor feedback from industry insiders at a country concert in Wisconsin. Her response was ” I don’t know what your perception is of Jessica Simpson or what tabloid you buy, but I just want you to know that I’m just a girl from Texas; I’m just like you. I’m doing what I love and dating a boy.” That quote is slightly gag-inducing, but I’ve got to give the girl some credit. She’s a hard-working artist and actress and that’s great, BUT I think her best contribution yet is her …
